The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be offering assistance to those affected by the 9/11 attacks through its Disaster Loan Program. SBA provides low interest, long-term loans to repair or replace uninsured or underinsured losses. SBA does not duplicate benefits of other agencies or insurance companies. When a disaster occurs, the SBA assists not only small businesses, but also makes loans to businesses of all sizes, nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters. SBA loans can have very flexible terms, and generally no payment would need to be made for at least five months. The SBA hopes to process loan requests within 21 days, and is available to assist clients with the application process.

In order to access SBA funding, clients must call FEMAs toll free number 1-800-462-9029 to register. SBA has personnel at offices around the City. For questions about applications or more information on SBAs locations and programs, call 1-800-659-2955.
