The Neighborhood Housing Services Foreclosure Prevention Counseling helps clients who had a reduction in income as a result of the September 11th attack and who are late on paying their mortgage can receive a foreclosure prevention counselor from Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS).

The foreclosure prevention counselor will work with clients to do the following, depending upon their situation:
�Create a budget to help them become current with their mortgage payments;
�Help refinance their mortgage (when necessary); or
�Negotiate a forbearance agreement with their mortgage lender (when necessary).
